22nd Annual Community Day a Huge Success

The 22nd annual Community Day returned to its roots, building community on campus while also serving the community around us.

About 350 students, faculty and staff donated their time and skills to a variety of causes. Rather than sending hundreds of volunteers to locations throughout the city, this year the majority of participants stayed on campus, but the impact was just as powerful. Here is just some of what was accomplished:

  • 100 winter kits were assembled for people who are unhoused
  • 70 sandwiches were made for St. Ben’s meal program
  • 32 hats were crocheted for a variety of causes
  • 31 bowls were made for Empty Bowls
  • 30 tee shirt bags were made for the 金沙娱乐城 food pantry
  • 18 blankets were made for Ronald McDonald House
  • 10 bags of trash were collected at Jackson Park

In addition, teams removed invasive plants from the 金沙娱乐城 bioswale, winterized and expanded the campus rain garden, created craft projects to share as random acts of kindness, worked with disabled adults from the Milwaukee Center for Independence, cleaned the windows at the Early Learning Center, built a Little Free Library and more!

Over the course of 22 years, more than 7,900 金沙娱乐城 community members have given more than 25,400 hours of service. That’s the definition of “金沙娱乐城 Strong!”
